User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1

With multiple tabs open, if I create a new tab and enter the URL of a site that
does not exist, the Firefox window will disappear. The process will still be
running and the program still shows as "Running" under Task Manager. I have not
found a way to bring the application back to the foreground, so I always have to
"End Program" in Task Manager. This last time I tried entering
http://www.icfai.edu (the correct URL is http://www.icfai.org).

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Firefox
2. Open multiple tabs (usually three, usually Autozone.com in first, Yahoo! Mail
in second, Slashdot in third)
3. Create new fourth tab
4. Enter URL of a site that does not exist, such as http://www.icfai.edu

Actual Results:
Firefox locks up, then window disappears. Program is still running as shown
under Task Manager. Have to force the program to end.

Expected Results:
Give an error message to the effect of "Server not found."

Dell Precision 350, P4 2.4 GHz, 1.5 GB RAM, Win XP Pro SP 1. Broadband
connection, accessing web through password-protected corporate proxy server.
I see this problem in Version 1.0 Preview. As the initial report says, if you
try to open a page, but you close [X] the firefox window before the page loads,
the process NEVER goes away. Eventually you hear the sound that firefox makes
when it times out, but the process never dies.	You can end up with a good
number of firefox processes this way, eating system resources, etc.!

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
