Many times, I use TB Address Book and not use Thunderbird mail directly. I would
like to be able to call Address book directly from a system level icon / script.

When I'm on my corporate network, I can't use imap or pop so to get Address
Book, I need to open thunderbird, click the Address Book Icon, Close
thunderbird. I would like to have Address Book come up automatically on my boot
scripts but can't currently do that.

Adding a command line switch to thunderbird executable would suffice like -a.
This would just launch Address Book.

Great work all and thanks!

Ahmm ... should work. See
http://www.mozilla.org/docs/command-line-args.html#options and
http://kb-upgrade.mozillazine.org/index.php/Thunderbird_:_FAQs_:_Addressbook_Command_Line.

If this was your aim please resolve this bug as WORKSFORME.
Yes and thankyou.

I was not even aware of the Mozillazine knowledgebase. Maybe mozilla thunderbird
FAQ list should get feeds from the Mozillazine FAQ list. I'll make such a
suggestion to the maintainers.

Thanks for your time.

Actually, who should I make this suggestion to update the MT FAQ's to?

There is no link on the website.

Should I open another issue?

tnx
Hmm ... the Kb is already linked from
