RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 250625

People

(Reporter: mozilla.bugzilla, Assigned: mscott)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041103 Firefox/1.0RC2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041103 Firefox/1.0RC2

If you have an RSS feed folder selected in the folder pane, and hit the delete
key, thinking the message pane has focus, you'll delete the RSS folder. Then
the feed is just gone, poof. Going Edit->Undo doesn't bring it back. You can
drag the folder out of the trash can, but that won't restore the feed
subscription, so you have to go dig up the feed URL again and recreate the
subscription from scratch.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make a feed.
2. Delete the feed's folder.

Actual Results:
Poof. Feed and subscription gone.

Expected Results:
Asked if you really wanted to delete the feed.

Maybe you folks will disagree with me, but I'm marking this major, because it's
too easy to do by accident, and it's a big pain to have to remake the subscription.

is this really a correct dupe? this bug is still existing in 1.0.6, it was not
fixed by bug 250625

Indeed, this problem still exists in its entirety. Some people marked many
bugs, including this one, as a dupe of 250625, but they are not dupes of that,
and they are not fixed.

Why should a simple, yet important bug like this take nearly a year to get
fixed? This is one of the reasons I switched to Liferea for RSS.

Still present in current Thunderbird :-(. I've lost tons of feeds, since "undo"
doesn't work.

Nominating for blocking. Seems trivial enough, and low risk, since email folder
deletions ask for confirmation, already.

This *is* a duplicate. The bug is fixed in 1.5 and 1.6 builds, which you are
*supposed* to be testing with before you post comments here. It *will not* be
fixed in 1.0.x builds, because the 1.0 branch is *finished* except for security
fixes.

Do not reopen this bug.

You are right, Mike. I confirm that Thunderbird build 20051010 already ask
confirmation.

Thanks, and excuse me.
