User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040825 Camino/0.8.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040825 Camino/0.8.1
The favicon from http://www.linuxcommunity.de is completely garbled in Camino.
It looks fine in just about any other browser, including Mozilla 1.7.3, so I
suspect it is a Camino bug.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. open http://www.linuxcommunity.de/ in Mozilla 1.7.3
2. open the same URL in Camino
3. compare the favicons
Actual Results:
The favicon in Mozilla should look OK, in Camino it should look garbled.
Expected Results:
The favicon should look the way it does in Mozilla 1.7.3.

Confirming in 0.8.2RC
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041102
Camino/0.8.2
On my Mac, only Firefox (which is based on the 1.7 branch; I don't have a
Mozilla 1.7.x installation) and the ever-resourceful GraphicConverter display
this favicon correctly. Nothing else--Safari, Preview, Iconographer--do.
GraphicConverter describes the file as an "ARGB, 32 bit, 8 Alpha" ico file,
which strikes me as if it might be a new or non-standard ico file. Note also
that its a 32x32 px ico rather than 16x16, so there's scaling going on in the
location bar, too, that might play into this.
It doesn't display correctly in the recent Camino nightlies (2004103108 (v0.8+),
based on 1.8; does it display correctly in Mozilla 1.8?), either. Is this a fix
that was only on the branch for 1.7.3? (Eh, no, Fx is supposed to be 1.7.5 just
like 0.8.2.)
Hmm, Firefox and Mozilla use their own routines for drawing .icos, I bet, and I
bet Camino uses OS routines (as do, I imagine, Safari and Preview). This may
well actually be an OS "bug"--lack of support for this new/non-standard ico
flavor in Apple's libraries--rather than a Camino one...?
Even more curious; Camino will display the file correctly if you view it
directly (i.e. in the "browser area")! It's just in the location bar where it's
corrupt.
Is Camino using OS routines for the location bar and the generic Mozilla ones
for drawing .ico files in the "browser part"? Either that or my previous
guess-diagnosis is incorrect :)

yes, camino uses NSImage to display in the url bar, so this is an apple bug.
