I have unchecked the boxes for "periodically check for updates: and changed to
home page to about:blank. My firewall reports that firefox is attempting to
connect to www.fxfeeds.mozillazine.org. I do not allow that type of trojan horse
activity. Thereafter, the firewall will not allow the firefox browser to access
the web at all. Which renders the browser useless. It is MY computer, and I will
be in charge of what site get contacted.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.launch browser
2.
3.

Actual Results:
My firewall reports that firefaox is attempting to connect to
www.fxfeeds.mozillazine.org. I do not allow that type of trojan horse activity.
Therefore, the firewall will not allow the firefox browser to access the web at
all. Which renders the browser useless.

Expected Results:
browser opens and awaits MY pleasure. My choice of web site(s) to visit. browser
does NOT attempt to connect to anything without my permission.
If you object to this network activity you should delete the second item on the
bookmarks toolbar (Latest Headlines or similar). The browser is only getting the
latest version of the RSS feed. This is a feature not a phone-home attempt.

That's correct, this is a "Live bookmark" opening from an RSS feed. If you
delete the live bookmark, this will no longer occur.
