268223 - Bookmarks disappear from menu and toolbar, but still exist

Installed possible 1.0 build (20041107: 1.0.sv-SE installer) now, and the
bookmarks are gone when I start; the bookmarks toolbar is empty and the
bookmarks menu contains only the add/manage items.

However, the bookmarks are still there - if I choose manage bookmarks they
appear fine in the bookmark manager, and after I've done that they appear in the
menu once again (the toolbar's still blank though). Close and restart firefox
and they're gone again.

bookmarks.html (and .bak) are still in the profile dir and look fine.

I see this problem on WinXP as well.

Furthermore, when Firefox starts up, my bookmarks menu and my bookmarks side bar
are empty. If I close the side bar and reopen it, my book marks show up. If I
click on "manage bookmarks" in the menu, then I get the window to manage the
bookmarks (as expected). Then the bookmarks menu works correctly. I can't figure
out any way to make the bookmarks toolbar work correctly though.

My problem was apparently caused by installing over a previous (1.0RC) install
dir. You could try to remove the directory completely and reinstall.

I did install over a 1.0RC install, but this does not appear to fix my problem.
I first tried removing Firefox with the Win32 Remove program stuff. When I
installed again, I had the same behavior. Then I tried deleting the "C:\Program
Files\Mozilla Firefox" directory (which I believe the uninstaller did
previously), and installed again. I still had the same results as described in
comment #1.

Attachment: Shows the bookmark toolbar being "collapsed" after sometime.

Has been consistenly occuring after a lengthy usage for hours with multiple
tabs opened.
