Details

In an early 4.5 beta, netscape added an ability to allow a person to secure their profiles with a password, this ability was later removed, for reasons I don't understand. Anyways, having the ability to password ones profile, expecially on windows machines where there is almost no local security model, would be of great benifit.
dp, is this something the wallet code can solve? Re-assign back to me if not.

Over to profile manager. You should be able to work with single singon and have this functionality. I think you know better if we need to do this or not.

This issue comes up from time to time. No current plans.
Status: NEW → ASSIGNED
Target Milestone: M20
Lets focus on what's important for the browser... Adding password protection in 4.5 beta was a stupid move, and it also got removed quite fast. This bug should be made invalid or moved to future, agree? More useful would be the remote profiles stuff.
moved to future maybe, invalid no. Currently its marked M20, which is future right now. When M20 hits, then the profile manager guys can decide on this.
