User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Build Identifier: Version 1.0 My start page is a local file where I have a number of sites coded in a HTML file. When I call up the file in Internet Explorer it shows as the correct size but when I call it in FireFox it comes up about three or four font sizes too small so I must use the CTRL UP ARROW combination each time I open Firefox to be able to read the links. File is available on request. Otherwise great program! Don Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Firefox 2. 3. Actual Results: Font too small on local start file Expected Results: OPened the page with the fonts as programmed in Microsoft Frontpage

We designed our homepage http://www.cas.de with relative font sizes, because otherwise IE would not let the reader change the font sizes via browser settings. Lots of other websites do the same. Consequence: Firefox dislays the text unreadably small, if you code a font-size of 70% for example. All other browsers show correct (readable) font-size, including Mozilla 1.6! All the browsers I tested run on Windows XP. The start page of Google www.google.com also seems to show the problem. The text is readable here, but significantly smaller than in all the other browsers.

Reporter, do as directed in comment 1, and also report what you find in your display properties -> settings -> advanced -> font size, and also report what your IE font size is set to.

Reporter, are you sure you aren't seeing something like bug 159206 or bug 225904?

(In reply to comment #3) > Reporter, do as directed in comment 1, and also report what you find in your > display properties -> settings -> advanced -> font size, and also report what > your IE font size is set to. Can't find a font size setting - neither in windows display properties nor in IE. There is only a seting for the font-name, none for the size. I checked the settings in my Firefox and found a font-size of 12 Pixels. The setting in Mozilla is 16 Pixels. This might be the reason, why Mozilla is correct and Firefox too small. Which is the standard setting when I install Firefox from scratch? (i can't remember to have changed the font-size in my firefox.

1-right click your desktop 2-choose properties 3-choose settings tab 4-choose advanced button 5-select font size In IE you can customize your main toolbar, adding or deleting items. Go to view -> toolbars -> customize and add the size item, which M$ really should have put there by default. FF default is the same as Mozilla, 16px.

(In reply to comment #6) Thanks for the instruction. Perhaps my German Version of Windows XP doesn't offer this setting. Doesn't matter. My problem is solved by resetting the font size in FF to 16 pixels. Perhaps it would be a good idea to provide a "back to default"-button for the font-size. It might be a trap for many users.

There's probably already an enhancement request bug for easy reset to default. not a bug -> invalid

Since none of the changes I made to the fonts (I tried eveything)I finally used the minimum size of 13 and that worked. Now I can see the page when it loads. Thanks

Reporter, it would still help us help you if you would obey the comment 1 instructions. If there's something sensitive or personal in it, remove that part and attach what's left.
