User-Agent:       Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/0.9.1+
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/0.9.1+

The plugin introduced in Bug 205974 is built using a pbproj package; and there
is an install phase during which SetOwnerAndGroup is called. This is implemented
with the standard BSD /usr/bin/chown -RH, which fails when the build tree
(not the sources) is on a netatalk server.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Migrate one's build tree to a server (perhaps on the grounds of space)
2. Attempt to configure and build Firefox
3.

Actual Results:
make fails inside embedding/components/printingui/src/mac/printpde

Expected Results:
make should have succeeded.

A workaround is to have the build setting contain lines such
as
				INSTALL_GROUP = "";
				INSTALL_MODE_FLAG = "u+w";
				INSTALL_OWNER = "";

which turn off the SetOwnerAndGroup operation

I doubt that many people are affected by this!

bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
