User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041007 Debian/1.7.3-5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041007 Debian/1.7.3-5 I wanted all of my news messages I was posting for school to be forwarded to my email account for backup. I didn't configure the smtp server properly and didn't really feel like taking the time to figure it out just yet. I went back to news account 'properties' and unchecked the box without clearing the field that contained the email address. the next few messages hung again still tring to send to that 'bad' email address. I went back and had to re-check the option in order to delete the email address from the field, and then uncheck it. Now it works fine as it did before. Not a hude bug, but a bug. It was odd it required a null string to disregard the option, and that the check box only disabled the text box. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Check news account property 'bbc posts' 2. type in email address 3. disable 'bbc posts 4. post to news group Actual Results: attempted to bbc email address in disabled field Expected Results: posted the message without attempting to bbc the email address I am a noob to Unix in general, one week old. I am completly microsoft free and have easily found Debian and Gnome much easier and more stable / practical / everything better then windows xp pro... mostly. It has been pretty self explanitory. Relevance : I am pretty clueless to anything else that may have been going on that would have been relevent, but kudos to the project and your time (whomever is reading this)

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. The default BCC gets copied to the compose window. If you have the compose window open while disabling the default in the account manager, the BCC (of course!) won't go away in the compose window, you need to delete it manually there - only new compose windows would now not have that default set... Other than that, the BCC only gets used if the checkbox is set, no need to clear the textbox in current trunk => WFM.
