Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load any we page, e.g. http://news.bbc.co.uk 2. Watch the circular animation 3. Observe colours Actual Results: It is in grey scale Expected Results: Nice colours This is a cosmetic, nice to have!
I'm using PR2 on XP-Home, and it's grayscale for me too. I was never even aware it was supposed to be color.

(In reply to comment #2) > always been grayscale on my computer.... > http://lxr.mozilla.org/aviarybranch/source/browser/themes/winstripe/browser/Throbber-small.gif > > looks grey to me? I have just upgraded my Windows 95 box to Firefox 1.0 and it is still colour, would be nice to get this on other platforms too. Please?
do you have any custom themes installed on your computer? can you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing? do you observe any other color differences between your two machines?

This is what I see on my Windows 95 box.
Thanks for the screenshot! Hmmm... funny thing here is that BY DESIGN it should be b&w, by error you get a color, and you _want_ the error version :-\ As to the cause : i can only think that this is caused by graphic drivers, monitor color alignement or color settings. All in all, your report would then be: change the throbber to another one. There have been many request for other throbbers and themes etc. and usually they're not very succesful.... Moving this to Firefox - GENERAL Your fastest way around this is to install a custom theme i think.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. From my point of view my Windows 95 box is running Firefox 1.0.7 and has the very nice colour throbber. It would still be nice to get it on other platforms, I think it looks better. I appreciate this is seen as an error and that I like the error but given that very few people will be running Firefox on Windows 95 they will not see this and want what they are missing out on! Geoff - Win95 is not part any more of the system requirements list http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/system-requirements.html Hence, I reckon we can ignore this as a serious bug (=~wrong behaviour). Nevertheless, your idea to make the deviant behaviour a standard is certainly an enhancement request. Confirmation as enhancement will hopefully lead to consideration by the right people and a possible WONTFIX if the change is undesirable. CONFIRMING. Severity: ENHANCEMENT.

We're not going to make the throbber multicolor at this point. We might do something around visual refresh time but it really won't look like this.
