User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10.1

I request new preference settings to specify behavior when clicking on links
internal to the web site on which they appear (lacking the "http://" in the
anchor tag"), and also to specify on behavior when clicking on links external to
the web site on which they appear (including the "http://" in the anchor tag").

Example:

When clicking on a link to a page within the current web site:
o Replace current page
o Open new page in new background tab
o Open new page in new foreground tab
o Open new page in new window

When clicking on a link to a page external to the current web site:
o Replace current page
o Open new page in new background tab
o Open new page in new foreground tab
o Open new page in new window

When clicking on a link to search results in one of my search engines:
o Replace current page
o Open new page in new background tab
o Open new page in new foreground tab
o Open new page in new window

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
These exist now. Please don't file bugs on out of date releases. 1.0 is out,
and has these.

Your comment does not say where precisely these features exist. As far as I
could tell, they did not exist in the most recent release of Firefox which
existed at the time that I requested the feature, nor do they exist in 1.0 which
I have since installed. I do see a very similar preference setting under
Prefernces -> Advanced -> Tabbed Browsing which permits the user to control
where URLs passed in from other applications are opened, but the feature I'm
requesting relates to clicking on links within Firefox. Thank you very much for
the cool browser. If I've overlooked the an existing feature, my appologies.

the UI was turned off for 1.0 because of some late-breaking bugs with the
feature, but the feature exists and will be exposed for 1.1
