I´ve read the comments, there is a diskussion about an applet ad getting firefox
to hang. I didn´t see an applet, ten times Reloading and Shift-Reloading.

This seems to work on the current trunk (2004112304).  

The slashdot URL coincides with the time they started serving java ads.

I had it crash on another site with an applet
  http://www.mascomabank.com
even though I have java turned off.

It almost seems like the java preference isn't respected in 1.8a4.

Anyway, it's OK now.
