User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 Thunderbird 0.9 I set up Thunderbird to alert me in the case of new email. I set Thunderbird to check emails every 3 minutes and to download new email automatically. Thunbird indeed checks email every 3 minutes and downloads them. But one the first new email generaten an alert (a sound and a visual alert). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set Thunderbird to automatically check email and set to alert. 2. Send an email to the account. 3. Wait until the alert takes place. 4. Send another email to the account. 5. Wait until the email arrives. Actual Results: First email results in an alert. Second email and all the following email do not initiate an alert. Expected Results: Every email should generate an alert. Also if the 20th email arrives there should be an alert. Maybe my report is not a bug but a feature. Then it would be greate to make the option configurable. I known that a lot of users would like to see the bug fixed / see the feature implemented.
and this is intentional - otherwise, we'd be generating noises every three minutes...it would have to be an option, as you say.
Severity: normal → enhancement
Is there a way to change that option in the registry or in a config file or somewhere else?
