Go to www.mozila.org
The site contains bars named linux, browser, thunderbird, firebird (!!) etc. But
it is full of Casino and related links. Try clicking at any mentioned words.
E.Q. thunderbird. You will get links where You can "get 2-3% discounts buying a
car" and so on.. Clicking at "browser" You get "secure the IE" and similar sites.

The site opens pop-up window on beginning.

The site is clearly designed to devote users who mistyped the mozilla.org url.

Very similar page is also the www.mozila.com but it doesn't fool the user by
"linux, browser.." at least.

Taking into account the shape of the sites, they could serve to attack the
computer by malicious code or lead user to page where he could get attacked in
my opinion. If user wants to get better/more secure browser and he is not sure
how to type the mozilla.org, he could easily get fooled and get more harm than
good, and could get wrong picture about mozilla.org

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

I don't know where should I report this, so I'm using bugzilla. Excuse me, please.

I hope such sites should be confronted in legal fashion.

Mitchell, can You write me a mail, please?
Well, it seems for me that the mozila.com is not the case. The site dosen't fool
the user into thinking it has something to do with browsers or so.

I mentioned it quickly just for the name similarity with mozilla.org. Otherwise
the site probably is not something to deal with.
Updating QAContact of all Miscellaneous bugs to miscellaneous@mozilla-org.bugs. If this particular bug should have a different QAContact, please change it and accept my apologies.

This seems to be a non-issue now, www.mozila.org actually has a link to download firefox and attributes copyright...
Actually, there are interesting security implications. If they find out that there are LDAP-password protected pages on intranet.mozilla.org, for example, they can setup intranet.mozilla.org equivalents -- those can ask for an LDAP password, and voila. (does my comment mean that this bug should be marked security-senstive)?

Since the download link from mozila.org now goes to the official Firefox download site, both Gerv and I agree we can close this bug.
