User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 just installed FF1.0, ther is a feature onthe "My Excite" page that displays an image from my local machine on the web page. this feature worked with previous FF versions up tp .10PR, but no longer works with FF1.0. is this a bug or is there a new setting or new default in 1.0 that is preventing display and, if so, where would i adjustit? Thanks - jim Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to MyExcite page 2. 3. Actual Results: page displays as before, except that the picture from my local machine does not display Expected Results: displayed the image

Er.. except that bug is the bug to make this not work. This is not a duplicate, but wontfix.

Unfortunately, allowing a website to load things off the local hard drive, including images, opens up the user to a wide range of denial-of-service and privacy attacks. So sites are not allowed to load local content. There is no reasonable way to disable this security feature without opening yourself up to sites being able to have their way with your computer.
