i like to make use of favicons for my personal toolbar without any text, it's
very useful, a la the w2k/xp quicklaunch.

via a checkbox when you edit a bookmark in the personal toolbar to hide the text
a general pref to set this pref when adding items to the personal toolbar via
dragging

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
You're able to create entries in the personal toolbar with no 'name', thus
making them just favicons. The 3 or so extra pixels on the right of the icon can
be eliminated through a change in userChrome.css. WONTFIXing this, as the
feature would not be used by most users.

example of personal toolbar maunally edited to save screen space
i wasn't talking about the 3px and userChrome.css, i was talking about the title
text on the personal toolbar. Toolbars in GUIs are mostly only icons.

if you hide the title text, go can go from maybe a couple of five bookmarks to
ten or twenty items.

it can save heaps of valuable screen space, see my attached screen shot
