User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041109 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041109 Firefox/1.0

Just upgraded to Mozilla Firefox 1.0. Had been on RC2. Went to Help -> About
to confirm the version change and got an error window with this text:

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: chrome://browser/content/aboutDialog.xul
Line Number 45, Column 3:

Then it shows some weird symbol with PK and then HF and TF split. I'll attach
screenshot shortly.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Help -> About Mozilla Firefox
2. Voila

Actual Results:
Get XML Parsing Error

Expected Results:
Present an about window showing version information
Emerged from source on gentoo gives same error

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041112 Firefox/1.0
FWIW: I, too, am on Gentoo linux using a source build.

WFM with firefox 1.0

Reporter, please upgrade to firefox 1.0 and tell us if is still crash

Thanks.

Note : I built my firefox 1.0 under fedora 3.

What is your .mozconfig ?
Now on Gentoo net-www/mozilla-firefox-1.0-r3 and About works fine. I don't see
anything in the Gentoo package ChangeLog addressing this issue but it seems to
be fixed now.
