It shakes up and down about 1/8 of a mm and does not stop. It first happened
2days after I downloaded firefox. I had just woken up my screen from powersave
and played around for about 5minutes. I then fired up firefox and it had the
shakes. It would do the same problem on other sites I visited. I could also
get it to stop by going to other sites, but nothing congruant. It also seemed
to do it while the page was still loading, but it also happened when i went to a
page that was already loaded. These are teh website it happened on myspace.com,
switchboard.com, and your homepage of google. I hope this is usful info. I
will let u know my hardware now: ecs board, leadtek geforce4 4200 ti, 768 xms
corsair memmory, athlon xp 2600 barton.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. just visit a few sites and it will happen it only started it today. It
worked fine yesterday and I have not installed or changed anything.
2. It just stops after a little while.
3.

I have the same problem after a few days of having firefox, my screen would
randomly shake but only sometimes and not on specific pages, sometimes reloading
the page fixed it, or going to another site, but not always, very inconsistent.
I have the same problem. Note that while sometimes the page will shake from the
beginning, sometimes it will not shake until I resize the browser. Then if I do
a refresh it stops shaking again.

REPRODUCTION OF THE BUG + WORKAROUND:
I experienced the same problems and I found a reason and a workaround.
for this bug (tested with Firefox 1.5.0.1):
This is how you can produce this "flickering" or "shaking" of the displayed site:
(excuse my translation - i have a german browser)
1) move the bookmark symbol bar to the right of the menu bar
2) disable the (now empty) bookmark symbol bar by right clicking the toolbar and disabling the second check
3) delete all the bookmarks from the (new) bookmark bar (to the right of the menu)
4) see the shaking site (every site is moving, but not every time right after loading, when you resize the browser window every time the shaking starts)
WORKAROUND: To get rid of that, just add at least one bookmark.
