User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040707 Firefox/0.9.2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040707 Firefox/0.9.2

All previous versions, up to 0.9.2, have worked fine on this particular Win2000
SP4 computer. After installation, the 1.0 final release release hangs
indefinitely (or at least for 4 minutes) - had to be killed using task manager.
The browser window shows the home page, but the browser is non-responsive. The
menus do not drop down, the window cannot be dragged to a new position, nor
closed using the standard close box.

Same behavior occurred after uninstallingand removing all extensions in the
previous version, then re-installing.

The browser was installed using a custom install into d:\Program
Files\MozillaFirefox.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install to custom location.
2. Start browser.
3. Observe hang after home page displays.
4. Kill with task manager.

Expected Results:
Browser loads and responds to keyboard and mouse input.

I hate to report this with no information to help with the diagnosis, but I
don't know how to find out anything more to report. I have used
Phoenix/Firebird/Firefox faithfully since v0.4, and this is the only time I
have had any problem like this. I will try it on my personal computer this evening.

However, even if this only happens once in a while, it is not acceptable for the
official release. If someone can suggest ways I can come up with more
information, I will be happy to try them out.
I have now installed the 1.0 release on my personal computer at home, and had no
trouble with it hanging. This suggests that either it is the computer model or
the corporate software installed on the machine that somehow is causing the
hanging problem on my work machine.

The machine at work uses a Cyberarmor firewall, while my home machine uses
ZoneAlarm. At work, there are also a variety of corporate management systems,
such as software inventory. If anyone thinks it worthwhile, I can try to
enumerate them in a few days.
I have solved the hanging problem on the one computer by creating a new profile
using v.0.9.2, then doing a fresh install of v. 1.0. I did not have to create a
new profile when isntalling on my home computer, but perhaps the profile that
caused the problem was from a much earlier version.

It is a bit worrisome that a profile that worked fine with 0.9.2 failed badly
with 1.0, but at least it now works.
