User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3 http://www.konqueror.org/banking shows (for the end-user) what s/he can expect with respect to online banking compatibility when considering switching to konqueror. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Visit http://www.konqueror.org/banking 2. Search [google: firefox banking] 3. Notice nothing comparable Actual Results: I couldn't find a central clearinghouse for general compatibility of Firefox or Mozilla with online banks/financial institutions. Expected Results: A page similar to http://www.konqueror.org/banking would be handy. Perhaps in the short term, the developers who set that page up would be willing to assist the Mozilla project to put up something similar in a quick-and-dirty manner. I see this as potentially very valuable with the new 1.0 Firefox release. If some users switch to Firefox and then get stymied by their bank, it could leave a bad impression. Havign such a central banking page would help users immediately if they run into problems. I'd hope that they'd complain to their banking sites, but in my experience, that will produce some short- to mid-term frustration for them as a result of switching (which is arguably a bad thing). In my case, I would like a place to mention that a couple sites that I use otherwise flawlessly with Firefox require that you unblock popups for the entire domain. Mysterious behavior otherwise results. (Sorry if this is misfiled; please reassign the product/category/etc as appropriate)

I'm gonna kick this over to mozilla.org, since I think if this is going to happen, it's something that needs to be handled on the Mozilla site, not within the TE component. The folks responsible for the site can decide whether or not they want to do this.

Here's what was there: http://web.archive.org/web/20060924164623/www.konqueror.org/banking/ I can see how it could be helpful, but I can also see how it would be a lot more work :-p

Gathering and presenting this information could make for an interesting community project and it could help to aggregate existing blog postings about the subject. For instance: http://blog.mozilla.com/gen/2007/02/27/the-cost-of-monoculture/ I think wiki.mozilla.org is the place for this though and not www.mozilla.org (since editing content on www.mozilla.org is restricted but anyone can edit the wiki). Feel free to reopen if anyone feels strongly that www.mozilla.org is where this would need to go.
