Which version of TB does (did) this occur with? Any language packs?
Did it start being a problem after an upgrade, or on the initial install?
Do you have any extensions installed? What happens if you start TB in "safe
mode"?
This occurs on a Toshiba Satellite Pro with Windows 2000 (SP4), 768MB RAM, GBs
of free drive space, Thunderbird (0.9 20041103). It is also seen on the message
window - single instance at the bottom of the screen. Reproducible. Just open
Thunderbird. All window styles work but bottom third of screen occupied by
error message. No language packs, initial install. No other problems in usage.
 Uninstalled completely, restarted machine, reinstalled with same results. Also
have mozilla 1.7 installed. Tried FireFox 1.0 but constantly crashed so
uninstalled.( ken_t@cs.jcu.edu.au)

This bug also occurs on Windows 98, and in safe mode too. I have not installed
any extensions. Have Firefox 1.0 and Thunderbird 1.0 installed in the same
folder (on D Drive). Downloaded Thunderbird-1.0 today (12/21/2004) (Help -
About shows version 1.0 (20041206))
I'm also seeing this, clean installation of Thunderbird Setup 1.0.exe, on what
appears to be Windows XP SP2. (Had previously installed Firefox 1.0)

I do not have administration rights on the machine concerned, and did not
install to the default location, instead using H:\Thunderbird

Windows with red text twice:
* Main window (regardless of the three pane arrangement)

Windows with red text once:
* Single email in a windows
* addressbook

Windows which appear normal:
* Print preview
* Search messages
* Properties
Yeah it appears under the status bar bar twice for me as well. It's on 2
machines running version 1.02 - both have french OS - I'm not sure if there's a
connection yet.
I can confirm this problem. I use Win98 SE 4.10.2222A on a PC EN-GB. TB worked
fine for a few weeks then started with this problem which got worse so that the
menu bar became corrupted only with File Edit and View missing. Reinstallation
restored functionality but the "----------^label="&blockImageCmd.Label;"" still
persists.

I can submit screen shots if required.

Any reason to leave this bug open? I assume this problem has disappeared with 1.5, altho I never saw it with 1.0.

Reporter, does the issue still occur with the latest supported 2.0.0.x / Shredder trunk nightlies?

(1.5.0.x is now end-of-life and the latest supported Thunderbird version 2 is 2.0.0.16)
