Please update the Flashblock extension to 1.0RC2, which is compatible with Firefox 1.0 (it is not compatible with Mozilla 1.x). It is mostly the same as v0.8 which is already on u.m.o. http://www.colitti.com/lorenzo/software/flashblock-1.0RC2.xpi It should also be at http://downloads.mozdev.org/flashblock/flashblock-1.0RC2.xpi , but the mozdev mirrors seem to be having problems with updates recently so it's not there yet.

Perhaps I should add that this extension is the same as the one currently on u.m.o called "Flash click to view". Once this version is uploaded, the old one can be deleted. The final name of the extension should be "Flashblock". Also updating URL as mozdev mirrors seem to have received the file now.

Does this have the same GUID? If so, then when users go to upgrade, they'll get FlashBlock. We can change the name no problem.

Yes, it has the same GUID. If the name change is not a problem, please make it "Flashblock". Thanks!

Actually, scratch that, Flashblock has a different GUID from Flash Click to View. Can the name still be changed? Flash Click to View can be removed from u.m.o if necessary. It's mostly the same code anyway. :)
So was this a rewrite, a renaming? Why a new GUID?

After a lot of consideration, perhaps the best thing is just to upload this as a new extension and consign Flash Click to View to history. We can add comments to the Flash Click to View extension page saying that if people want the same functionality (actually, much better) in Firefox 1.0 they should uninstall it and just install Flashblock 1.1. alanjstr, shall we go ahead with this? Updating URL to reflect latest version of the extension.

That's fine. As far as I know, the mozdev mirrors are not currently mirroring.

Yes, I always seem to run into trouble with mozdev mirrors. In the meantime, you can get the extension here: http://www.colitti.com/lorenzo/software/flashblock-1.1.xpi

Updating URL now v1.2 has been released. This is good to go, it would be nice to have it on u.m.o soon. If the mozdev mirrors don't play nice the xpi is available at http://www.colitti.com/lorenzo/software/flashblock-1.2.xpi

All uploads are currently being made via umo-beta. Since you took care of it yourself, I'm going to close this bug. You'll receive an email confirmation when it is approved.

Ok, I'm confused. Is Flashblock the same as Flash Click to View? If so, I'll combine their entries to whatever it is supposed to be. The mozdev site calls it Flashblock. If they're different, then I have a whole other set of problems. But I suspect they are one and the same. So what is the right name? I'll be glad to upload the latest version to UMO, too.

Flashblock is more or less "the new version of Flash Click to View". The developers are the same. However, it has a different GUID. Since Flashblock obsoletes Flash Click to View, which only works on 0.8-1.0PR anyway, FCTV can either be removed or replaced with a comment saying "this extension has changed its name to Flashblock".
