User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 When editing text in this window right here and also in Thunderbird (compose message) the I beam text insert cursor is to wide (two pixels) and is sitting two lixels to the left from where it belongs. This makes text editing, especially in smaller fonts like verdana 12 etc. a real pain. I find it hard to comprehend that after 20 years or so for graphical GUI experience something so simple can get so wrong in these otherwise great products. Please correct as soon as possible as otherwise your products are a pain to type a lot of text with.... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Expected Results: The text insert cursor should be one pixel wide and placed correctly!

This image shows the display of the text insert cursor after typing the letter "l" at the end of "Hello Worl". The cursor is to wide and to far to the left!

This image shows the placement of the cursor after finishing typing "Hello World" and placing the cursor before the "l" in "World". Now the cursor is to far to the right. In the image here the insertion point is actually before the "l"! Combined with the misplacement of the cursor as in the example before, where it is to far to the left, makes using Thunderbird to edit or type text a real Pain indeed! Unless this is not fixed the usefulness of Thunderbird is VERY LIMITED indeed and I will have to revert to OE or Outlook for my communications. The same problem arrises not only with Thunderbird but also when filling out text form fields in Firefox where you seem to use the same editing engine with the same oversized and misplaced cursor. Why??????

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
