"DLError: libxpcom.so cannot op en shared object file, no such file or
directory", after which the installer crashes. I simply downloaded, unTARred
(with zxvf) the installer files, and run firefox-installer-bin without changing
any options, not even the target dir. Disappointing.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.see above
2.
3.

Actual Results:
full crash. Back to the Bash promt

Expected Results:
Havn't a clue. I did not write it .
Installing from CD on 7.2 Linux. Message: "./firefox-installer-bin: error while
loading shared libraries: libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: cannot load shared object file:
No such file or directory"

CD is in drive and mounted.

did you try:
./firefox-installer ?
I tried the above suggestion with the same result.

saa00_2000@yahoo.com
are you using Red Hat 7.2? That's not going to have gtk2, which firefox requires:

resolving INVALID -- run firefox-installer, not firefox-installer-bin
