When I hooked up the search offline setting for virtual folders, it turns out my fix only worked for cross folder virtual folders. Need to figure out how to make it work for single folder virtual folders.

this isn't that relevant - you will have just opened the folder before the search is run, which for imap and news downloads the newest headers...I think this choice should probably be disabled for single folder virtual folder. The only advantage I can think of for doing the search online is that it might be faster on the server in some situations...but I suspect that would not be too common.
invalid after talking to david. we are re-opening the underlying folder which is expected.
