User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 hi! under "Tools > Options > Advanced > Tabbed Browsing", i have enabled "Select new tabs opened from bookmarks or history". however when i select a bookmark or a link from the history column, the webpage is displayed in the existing tab that is already opened, rather than in a new tab. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open a webpage in a tab 2. click on a bookmark from the bookmark toolbar or sidebar. 3. alternatively, click on a link in the history section on the sidebar. Actual Results: the new webpage is displayed in the existing tab, replacing the webpage that was previously there. Expected Results: i'm assuming that selecting the option to have "new tabs opened from bookmarks or history" would open webpages clicked from the bookmarks or history section in a new tab. am using the "708090" theme, but did revert back to "default" theme to make sure. both displayed same issue.

This nonsense annoys me too. Someone forgot to add "Open bookmarks and history in new tabs" option in the first place.

if you middle- (or control-) click the bookmark, it will open in a new tab, selected. Opening in a new tab after left-clicking is wontfix. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 270117 ***

Just to clarify, the option in the advanced dialog is about whether the tabs you open (via ctrl+click or middleclick) get selected (brought to the front) or not.
