User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; hu-HU; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041108 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; hu-HU; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041108 Firefox/1.0

I installed firefox 1.0 on two systems, and on both systems it looks very bad...
The existing users cannot use it correctly because of the following (I'm using
the Hungarian localised version, therefore the translation is maybe not 100%
correct):
XML error: undefined entity
location: chrome://mozapps/content/update/update.xul
line 214, coloumn 24
label="&resetHomepage.label;" accesskey="&resetHomepage.acceskey;"/>
-------^

On one system, the users cannot even start firefox!
On the other system, firefox can be started, but the function "check for
updates" fails with the same error message. On that system, if I try that users
use firefox from scratch, firefox cannot make the default settings, after
starting the message searching for extensions and plugins is repeated endlessly.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start firefox...
2.
3.

On one system, I tested with the English version, and there it worked correctly.
Maybe a bug in the Hungarian version? Is it than right to report the bug here,
or it should be reported the the Hungarian maintainer?
Did you try with a new profile? Many of the problems with Firefox are caused by
dirty upgrades (upgrading from an older version and keeping the old profile data).

Unfortunately even if I knew how to fix this bug, I would have no opportunity to
do so, because Firefox 1.0 has been released and the CVS tree is closed.

It is OK to report Hungarian localization bugs here, just make sure you put my
e-mail in the CC list, otherwise I'll never know about the bug.

Yes. It works fine with a new update. But I updated from 1.0PR to 1.0, so it
should not be such a large problem. There are a lot of settings, extensions etc.
which I don't really want to create again.

Sure. But maybe there is a choice to fix it for Firefox 1.1 - so for the future.
Until then, I'll install Firefox in English.:)

I've meant here new profile, not new update. Sorry.

I'm closing this as WFM because of the age of the report, the issue is probably fixed in newer builds, and at the very least can't be replicated anymore, and the fact that it's resolvable with a new profile.
