If I send a mail to someone I sometimes need a response before some set time,
but I often forget to remind the receivers if I don't get an answer from them in
time. What would really help me (and everyone I've talked to about this idea) is
a way to say "Send this letter and if I don't get an answer before X
minutes/hours/days/11:45 etc, I want to be notified.". The notification should
include the original mail so I can resend it and/or just to see what it was all
about.
The program could know if a message contains the response by looking at
"References:" headers as well as some matching of sender/receiver and subject.
This could perhaps also be extended to "expect" other kinds of messages. Daily
reports from a backup program for example. If it does not come before 10:00
every working day or if the body of the message contains "error" I would like to
be notified about it otherwise I don't want to see it in the inbox. A
combination of filters and such an "expect" feature would really help here.
I can imaging people getting various kinds of employee reports would want some
feature like that too.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
