User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041105 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041105 Firefox/1.0 When creating a saved search folder for an IMAP account, if the search is on more than 1 folder (e.g. The 'Inbox' and one of its subfolders, like 'Junk') the search returns no results (i.e. the saved search folder is empty) regardless of search criteria. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. configure an IMAP account that has some subfolder under 'Inbox' 2. create a saved search folder that searches the inbox and one of its subfodlers 3. I'm using an IMAP account from runbox.com; my spam controls are configured to mark messages as spam, but not move them anywhere (the contents of the Junk subfolder is just old spam that I keep around). This feature could save me the trouble of creating rules and redirecting incoming messages to different IMAP folders (the latency..) and I'm really glad that it's been added. However, being able to search more than one folder is crucial to me.

The same happens when searching between two or more news groups. Using Thunderbird 1.0 on Linux.

I experience the opposite, in that my IMAP folder search only works when 2 or more folders are part of the search. I do not have sub-folders under my IMAP Inbox folder. When I created a search folder with criteria that surely matched a few messages in the Inbox folder but the search folder stayed empty. It was not until I added another folder to the search (Drafts) that the messages in the Inbox folder showed up in the Search Folder. It does not matter which extra folder I add along with the Inbox folder and no messages in the added folder have to match the criteria. In short: The only way for the search folder to work was to have more than one folder as part of the search. I am using version 1.0.2-1.3.2 (20050324)

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. (In reply to comment #4) > This bug has been automatically resolved after a period of inactivity (see above > comment). If anyone thinks this is incorrect, they should feel free to reopen it. please reopen. I can confirm that the bug is still unresolved in Thunderbird 1.0.7, both searching in 2 or more folders in the same IMAP account and searching in 2 or more groups in a NEWS account.

this works fine for me. But in any case, we were asking if it works in 1.5beta 1, not 1.07. 1.5 beta 1 contains a lot of bug fixes from 1.0. 1.07 only contains security fixes from 1.0

Ah... just as a comment, accidentaly I discovered that in fact this feature kind of works (still speaking of 1.0.x series)... :-) I've a 'saved search' looking for messages marked as 'important' in all groups from a newsgroup account. When I click in this saved search, nothing is shown in the right panel (messages list), but if I changed to see 'unread messages' and then back to 'all messages' the my important messages from all groups are correctly show... ;-) If I click in a different folder and back to this saved search, then I have to repeat the above procedure to be able to see the messages. I hope this can help debug this issue. In a few days I'll test the 1.5 series. Thanks for now.
