Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
I exported some stuff from Mozilla when I installed the Firefox 1.0. The
download manager window was full of old files. This caused that when I started a
file download, the whole firefox froze for 20 seconds. After that the download
manager window opened.
When I committed an action in download manager to remove files or similar. It
took about 3 minutes, and again both download manager and firefox where
totatally frozen.
Workaround: Just remove all the old files and it will be a lot faster with only
few files in there. Only problem with this is, that it really takes a long time
after you press the button and the program shows no responding after pressing
the button for 3 minutes or so. It took me few days before I accidently figured
out that it didn't actually crash, it was just working for a long time.
There is a workaround, but I will mark the severity as Normal, because the
behaviour is very much similar to crashing so figuring out the workaround could
be hard.
Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get yourself a full list of downloaded items
2. Start downloading using download manager
3. Freezing can be noticed for example by trying to move the firefox window, it
doesn't respond.
Actual Results:
The whole application was frozen for certain amount of time.
Expected Results:
Well I would prefer if it would be a little faster, even if there are many
files. And even if it has to take a long time, it would be nice if the whole
Firefox would be not freezed.
