Read through the comments page for Pinball-fx. Note the number of 0 star
comments relating to XBL errors towards the bottom of the page. This is because
these people installed the OSX version of Pinball-fx on a Windows or Linux box -
they just installed whatever version was on the main page. Yes, they should have
been paying closer attention. But that's the vaunted end user for you. I'm
getting sick and tired of these comments as well as feedback through my own site
about this issue.

The theme author should have the ability to place a few, say 4, versions of his
extension or theme on the 'main' page to that extension or theme at u.m.o. That
ought to be enough to clue in most people that they have to pay attention to
which one they install.
Before cluttering the already very cluttered moreinfo page with more confusing
versions that alot of items don't need.

These two bugs have relevence to your issue and will be (already are) fixed in
update-beta.
Bug 256485 -- Moreinfo should do version filtering and not rely on vid.
Bug 256772 -- Moreinfo should *show* compatibility information on the page. (It
currently does not, and importantly because of this it doesn't use the symbols
end-users are getting used to for compatibility information from the lists are
absent.)

I don't want to clutter the moreinfo page with addition version information that
95% of users will not need. That's what the All Versions page is for.

The new site still doesn't let me pick OSX nor does it show it.

I'm going to WONTFIX this. If there are cases in which we're letting users install things for the wrong platform, please do file bugs about those case, so we can fix them promptly. I think this isn't a problem any more, though.
