User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/Thunderbird/v0.9/20041103 At times the listing of messages refuses to scroll by demand. Dragging the righ-hand scroll button down will break from the cursor hold and scroll back to the top of the window by itself. Repeated button drags begin to follow the cursor drag, but break free and return to the window top. Pressing the up/down buttons have no effect to bring the behavior under control. I have windows XP Pro with Mozilla Thunderbird version 0.9 (20041103). I am using a Microsoft optical wheel mouse. The center wheel has not been used to lock down a reference. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Thunderbird, select a folder with many messages. 2.Click on a message in the folder, getting a message to display in the lower window. 3. Drag the right-hand scroll button down. Sometimes it will break free of the drag and scroll back to the top. Actual Results: I tried the up-down arrows on the keyboard, scrolling the mouse wheel, and clicking on the up / down buttons at top right and bottom right. Expected Results: Permit a controlled scroll of the message headers. A workaround is to close Thunderbird and restart it.

I'd like to confirm this action. It used to happen to me often in NS 4.78. In TB 1.0, under Win98SE, it's only happened twice since I installted TB 1.0 in mid-December. I don't understand the action of all the buttons below this _Additional Comments_ window so will leave them ALL alone. ;-)

It just happened again for me. I discovered that changing the view from ALL to UNREAD then back to ALL broke out of the runaway status and restored normal functionality.

It just occured to me again, this time I am using Thunderbird version 1.0.5 (20050711). The scroll insists this time to scroll to the *bottom* of the list.

Reporter, does the issue still occur with the latest supported 2.0.0.x / Shredder trunk nightlies? (1.5.0.x is now end-of-life and the latest supported Thunderbird version 2 is 2.0.0.16)
