This is going to require a little work for someone to verify this. ;) Sorry.

I wanted to download the trial of CorelDRAW, so I went to the URL above, signed
up, logged in with my email/password, accepted the license agreement, then
clicked the link "Begin Download". It opened a new window, and attempted to run
some sort of download manager applet. FF asked if I wanted to run it, I said no,
then closed that window. Crash.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to the link attached to this report.
2. Sign up with Corel, unless you already are.
3. Login.
4. Download the trial of CorelDRAW.
5. Accept the license.
6. Click "Begin Download"
7. A new window will open, and an applet will try to load.
8. Click "No"
9. Close that newly opened window.

Actual Results:
"Instruction at 0x006cfc4a referenced memory at 0x000000a4. The memory could not
be read."
please see if you have components\talkback.exe, if you do, please run it and see
if it lists any incidents, if not, please run the ff installer, select custom
install, select talkback, repeat the steps to crash, follow the directions,
repeat these steps. if you have an incident id, please mention it here in this
report. thanks

I can confirm this bug, I was about to report this bug when I found this one. I
also have the Mozilla Quality Feedback Agent (talkback) installed and I already
sent a few incidents. The last one is in queue and the previous one is
TB2337929E. When we try to download the trial a new window is opened to launch
the Corel Download Manager, this window tries to open a popup but it's blocked
by Firefox, it also asks if we allow the Akamai (Corel Download Manager is
powered by an Akamai technology) applet, I said no and Firefox crashed. I also
tried to say yes and the applet was successfully launched but a few minutes
later, Firefox froze and the download never began. I had to kill its process and
restart Firefox. The only solution I found was to use Microsoft Internet
Explorer, it works just fine.
For info I thought MS IE would be able to download the trial but it crashed a
few minutes ago. MS IE crashed and sent a bug report to Microsoft. On my HD I
have a « CorelDRAWGraphicsSuite12.exe.dlm » file that is 190 255 304 bytes
large. I renamed it to « CorelDRAWGraphicsSuite12.exe » and tried to unpack it
and got the following error dialog : « The contents of this file cannot be
unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please
obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again. ». So I'm
sure the download was not complete. It crashed during the download process and
made MS IE to crash so maybe the problem doesn't only come from Firefox as the
Corel Download Manager is not stable under Mozilla Firefox and MS IE. The only
solution I found was to use Mozilla, not Firefox. I don't know why but Mozilla
didn't launch the Corel Download Manager, Mozilla just downloads the «
http://www.corel.com/akdlm/6763/downloads/trials/GraphicsSuite12/CorelDRAWGraphicsSuite12.exe
» file. Direct link, no Java applet, no Corel Download Manager.

I really wonder why Corel makes the evaluation process so akward by using a
download manager... But Firefox should be able to handle the job anyway :).

The incident number from comment 2 is not in the TB db anymore. Could anyone
reproduce the problem and provide a new ID?
Version: unspecified → 1.0 Branch
ffolkes: Could you able to reproduce this bug? If yes, could you provide
Talkback incident ID?
Keywords: talkbackid
I just followed the steps to replicate, and like in Comment #3 I was given the
direct file download, no download manager - only difference was I was using
firefox! Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.7.6)
Gecko/20050321 Firefox/1.0.2 Wonder if Corel have given up on their download
manager.
No response from reporter for several months, marking WFM.

Reporter: Please reopen this bug, if you could reproduce with recent build and
could provide Talkback incident ID.
