A similar crash appeared to be fixed by bug 255581, but there are still quite a
number of crashes in the latest TB09 Talkback data across all platforms:

David, this patch looked pretty safe so I put it in the 1.0 branch tonight so it
would make tomorrow morning's builds for better test coverage. Feel free to
check it into the trunk at your leisure.

I filed bug 274981 on crashes I am seeing with the Thunderbird 1.0 release that
did not occur with the 1.0RC1 version.  That bug was duped to 261083 that
evidently has existed since dirt.  Although it may be true that where it crashed
indicates that bug, and applying the patch for that bug could in fact fix the
problem, there has to be something else that changed between 1.0RC1 and 1.0 in
the IMAP code that is trigerring this issue.  The checkin for this patch appears
to be the sole candidate.  I suspect that what I am doing that is causeing the
crash is deleting a message that is currently in the process of being downloaded.

Note that a check |if (!fServerConnection.GetCurrentUrl())  return;| has been
added to the trunk.  (This change was checked into CVS simultaneously with the
patch for Bug 249128.  This is probably unintended, since this change was not
part of that bug/patch.)

yes, I checked in more bulletproofing along with some parser fixes...I found one
cause of this crash, which is that if an imap message load gets aborted, we were
parsing responses from ending idle, or logout, w/o having a url running.

David - want to mark this fixed, or is there still more work to do?  The case
you described seems highly likely to me, as I abort loading messages mid-way
quite frequently, so this probably is fixed now.

hm, looking at recent talkback reports this still appears to be a topcrasher in
Thunderbird 1.0.2. I'll attach a more detailed listing of the stack traces and
comments, but several of the users noted the crash while selecting messages or
changing IMAP folder views.

reopening, but please let me know if this deserves its own bug and I'll file it.
 it's currently the 7th most common tbird 1.0.2 crash (and is cross-platform).

Returning this to fixed.  It has been fixed on the Trunk and we have not seen
any crashes in Talkback data there.  However, this is still around on the Aviary
branch...so if anyone wants to take a look, feel free. I doubt we will be able
to do much with 1.0.x releases...since this will not be a problem in 1.1.
