269620 - extensions item in the tools menu does nothing

I am running WinXp with SP2. I reformatted my hard drive and installed WinXP
from its CD and then SP2 from its CD.
At the time, I was running Firefox 1.0 RC2.
Of course, most of the extensions previouly used did not install as they were
not ready for RC2. When 1.0 final became available, I installed it per
instructions saving my bookmarks and uninstalling RC2. Then I ran a series of
registry leaners and a search of the registry using regedit to make sure all of
RC2 was gone.

I then installed 1.0 final in the English version since although I now live in
France, I prefer  English versons when available. Install was normal. I got it
on the first available date by using a link in an e-mail from Spread Firefox.
Install was totally normal. I took a look at the extension list and theme list
going through the theme list first. There were no new themes so I stayed with
the full Noia theme. Only one extension normally used by me was available so I
waited until yesterday and found available extensions at Firefox extensions 
page, Texturizer extensions and Extensions mirror. All extensions donlaoded and
installed normally.

Then, I clicked on the extensions item in the tools menu so I could configure
those extensions with options. This was repeated multiple times after both
reboots and shutdowns. In each case, the cursor  changes to the busy cursor and
then simply returns to the regular arrow. The extensions item never opens. The
only extensions that are now functioning are those that do not have configurable
options. Any extension with options is inoperable because I cannot open up the
extensions manager to configure options. This is the BUG.

If you need more information, please email me or send me the name and telephone
number of the person who wants to talk to me and I will call them. No point in
Mozilla.org incurring unnecessary expenses.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot up computer
2.  Run Firefox
3. Click on tools menu button
4. Click on extensions
5. Extensions manager fails to open every time

Actual Results:  
Nothing. The extension manager fails to open.

Expected Results:  
Extension manager should have opened allowing me to configure extensions with
options.

Does this still occur? If it was a common problem, it would have received more
attention. Does a new profile fix it?
