Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 When you search for anything using the google toolbar in the upper corner, the google search opens, by default, in the current window/tab you are working in. It makes more sense to open a new tab when you use this feature, as opposed to overriding the current page you are viewing with the new results. A better idea would be to allow users to choose. I did not find this option in the firefox preferences. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Seach for anything in the google toolbar, click <enter> 2. Search results are displayed in current window/tab 3. Expected Results: The software should open the search results in a new tab or at least provide the option of doing so.

Shift-enter should open a new window. Ctrl-enter should open a new tab.

(In reply to comment #1) > Shift-enter should open a new window. > Ctrl-enter should open a new tab. alt-enter opens a new tab shift-enter and ctrl-enter work the same as enter only, they open it in the same tab.
