I had Acrobat 6.0 installed on my PC with Windows 98 OS. I was using a preview
release of firefox which worked fine. Iu chose the upgrade tab in the browser
and upgraded to Firefox 1.0. Since then, whenever I click on a pdf link on a
website, a new browser window opens and says Done in the taskbar. But the file
does not open and I do not get the option to save to disk either. Acrobat is not
launched. The pdf plug-in is installed in the browser. I tried again after
installing Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 but it still does not work. At the same time,
Internet Explorer was able to open the pdf files. So the error seems not to be a
part of my software / hardware.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click on a pdf link on any website
2.
3.
Actual Results:
A new browser window opens and the taskbar says Done. Nothing happens after that.
Expected Results:
Either opened the pdf file or offered to download it to the disk.
Things worked fine when I was using the preview version of Firefox. Problems
started only when I upgraded to Firefox 1.0

Likely you need to reinstall the adobe plugin. Are you able to do this? Does it
solve the problem?

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
