In the about/credits window a named is not displayed correctly. Probabvly a
problem with the font. This has to be further investigated. I will contribute a
screenshot that explains the problem.

Works for me in version 0.9+ (20041114) on Mac OS X 10.2.8, which is the latest
branch (en-US version). Reporter, what is your version (and language) ?

If a language pack (for example, JLP) is installed and the language is chosen,
this problem will occur.

This problem may be fixed by rewriting the character in question with "é".

Does this still happen? I installed the ja and de language packs in an en-US 2.0.0.14 on Windows XP, and neither one shows that "UTF-8 being interpreted as a single-byte encoding" effect.

No, this was fixed in bug 305739. (Was simply not correctly UTF-8 encoded .)
