And where would that need to be ? In the Open File / Save File dialogs ? Or when
you're looking at a directory ?

All this could be done in an extension, but I don't think it should be done in
the main browser. Therer is still a distinction between a web-browser and a
file-browser (Windows Explorer, Mac Finder or whatever).
Christopher, would you mind explaining what your request is, exactly?
I was searching for a bug similar to this one before posting a new one.

I feel that I know where the author of the bug is coming from. The only File
manager for GNU/Linux, or any other OS realy, that offers a tabbed interface is
Konqueror. KDE and any individual KDE applications still run slow after a major
hardware upgrade, so I'm trying to find KDE program alternatives, with XFCE as
my desktop enironment.

Anyway, a few additional HTML and CSS files, and a few subtle changes to the
program itself, could easily provide a great local file and FTP interface. What
a great improvement for the best browser out there!

Probably expecting shell integration like IE?
Not likely to happen for Firefox which is not Mozilla Suite...
