When Thunderbird 0.9 identifies mail as Junk, it doesn't move it to the "other" folder chosen in the "Handling" panel.

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Thunderbird 0.9 (20041103) I have a folder set up for looking at SPAM, and it is not called "Junk". The "Handling" panel on Junk Mail Controls lets me choose to "Move incoming messages determined to be junk mail to" an "other" folder, which I can designate. This worked correctly under TBird 0.8, but under 0.9, the messages are automatically designated as spam, but not moved. I switched back to 0.8, and it's working correctly there still. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Select an "other" folder in the Junk Mail Controls 2.recieve spam that Thunderbird recognizes and marks Actual Results: the mail doesn't get moved to the desinated folder. It's still in the inbox. Expected Results: move it to the designated folder
I upgraded from mozilla 1.6/7 to TB 0.9 where junk mail automatically moved out of the inbox. Now it does not. I found somewhere else to go to Tools->Delete Junk Mail in folder, and this does move the junk messages. However, in Tools->Junk Mail Controls the settings show that it should be done automatically. I even tried changing the folder from the generic "Junk" folder to actually selecting that "Junk" folder for my account. It did not make a difference.
See Bug 268185 if you use non-ascii character in mail folder name.
I'm seeing this in 1.0 also. It worked for a while, they it started not moving junk to the junk folder.
Same here. It worked for a while, they it started not moving junk to the junk folder.

Ever confirmed: true
Chris Hibbert: is this bug, as originally reported, still a problem for you? Did you ever specifically test whether switching to the default Junk folder would allow junk to be moved, where the "other" folder would not? (I use an "other" folder, always have, without a problem.) Bug 196732 is a big, messy bug full of basically the same symptom: messages marked as junk but not being moved; see bug 196732 comment 60. The symptom reported by Jens Martin Schlatter and Jason Giglio is also reported in bug 196732 comment 59.
No response from reporter, duping. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 196732 ***
