Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041112 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Thunderbird version 0.9+ (20041114)

Dragging an attachment to the desktop causes an error. This is noticeable for
larger files. If I drag an attachment, and wait for the file to download before
releasing the left mouse button, the file copies to the desktop fine. If I
perform this quickly, a Windows dialog says that the file cannot be moved--it is
being used by another program (ie. Thunderbird).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a message with an attachment of a considerable size (over 200k, for
example).
2. Drag the attachment to a folder in the background, such as the desktop.
3. Quickly release the mouse button.
Actual Results:
Error message: Erorr moving file--file in use.

Expected Results:
Queued the download of the file and downloaded it to the desktop.

In Windows 98, dragging any attachment from TB to the desktop produces a File
System Error.
Is this for IMAP or POP mail?
IMAP for me.
Might be a dupe of bug 253711.
It is a dupe--you're right. The only thing I might add is that if, when dragging
the attachment from TB to a folder, you wait for the download window to open and
close, and THEN let go of the mouse, the file is moved fine. I'll copy this
comment to that bug.
