When I load this URL and attempt to start the Yahoo! Web Messenger,
the Web Messenger fails to load.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load www.yahoo.com
2. Log in
3. Load http://messenger.yahoo.com/webmsgr/fmsgr.php
4. Click on "Sign In"

Actual Results:
After following the steps, the window displayed is blank with a little message
at the bottom that says:

Get more cool features in the full version of Yahoo! Messenger!
Learn more...

Expected Results:
I expect the Web Messenger to work.

I suspect this is Internet Explorer specific bogosity on Yahoo's part.
THe java plugin in os x is apple's one. This can be either a problem in apple's
plugin or in yahoo's applet.

Also note that Safari uses java1.4.1 and we use java1.3 (by default). If yahoo
messanger does work in Safari (from my test, it doesn't), please try this plugin:

I am running OS/X 10.3.9.

It currently works with "Java 1.4.2 Plug-in (Cocoa)" in Safari.
However, Firefox 1.0.4 still fails: "Java 1.3.1_03-76"
Hmm. Safari just crashed. It looks like I can get it to display my connected
friends, but it fails to enable me to add new friends, chat or send messages.
So much for compatibility!
