After installing Firefox 1.0 on a Dell D600 laptop running Windows 2000 SP4, I 
noticed that both Word and Excel now have the same tabbed browsing screens when 
I use File, open.  Instead of getting the "traditinal"/default file, open 
screen in the middle of my monitor, I get, essentially, the Firefox 1.0 tabbed 
browsing screen with "Open" in the very top, left corner.  Uninstalling Firefox 
and deleting the profile has had no effect inrestoring the default MS file,open 
screen.  Seoecting IE 6 as the default browser also has no effect on correcting 
the problem.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install Firefox 1.0, select as default browser, and reboot
2.Open Firefox
3.Open MS Word, click File, Click Open, View is Firefox tabbed browser view

Does not affect AutoCAD LT 2004 of Adobe Acobat Pro 6.0



Expected Results:  
Don't mess with my other applications!  This undermines confidence in FireFox!!

Can you provide a screenshot of this?  What version of Word/Excel are you using?

It seems that Firefox has never succeeded in opening word files inside the
Firefox frame. Every time it happens that a separate word window opens the file,
and then Firefox merely switch back to a blank window. I'm using Microsoft Word
2003.

Any screenshot available, I have experience only about Word 2002 version in XP
environment.
