when accessing the ORACLE 9i Application download page, the browser will not
recognize the already installed ORACLE Java Initator version 1.3.1.9;
de-installed the ORACLE product and the browser would not list the plug-in to
install it; dead in the water to use an application running ORACLE 9i AS or 10g
AS with an ORACLE provided Plug-In (Java Initiator Version 1.3.1.9) - THANKS.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.attempt to logon an application using ORACLE 9i AS (or 10g)
2.displays download plug-in ICON
3.nothing happens
4.if already installed on desktop, then it should load the ORACLE plug-in and
get a logon session to the application (through the ORACLE 9i AS)

Actual Results:
application not accessible

Expected Results:
see item 4 above.

using XP desktop within an Enterprise network...

works well with Netscape 4.78/79; Netscape 7.1 (NOT 7.0 or 7.2) and with I.E. 6.0...
Does this help?

Netscape, Mozilla and Firefox users only : JInitiator by default will install
into directory C:\Program Files\Oracle\JInitiator 1.3.1.9. In order for
Netscape, Mozilla and Firefox to use the JInitiator successfully, you must copy
the file
C:\Program Files\Oracle\JInitiator 1.3.1.9\bin\NPJinit1319.dll
to the \plugins\ directory for your browser. (Commonly, browsers are installed
in subdirectories of C:\Program Files; for example,
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\.)

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
