After submitting a comment on Slashdot.org, the page that confirms it is
rendered in double width. You have to scroll far right to find the contents of
the page. This works fine in Opera.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login to Slashdot.org
2. Reply to some article/comment
3. Sidescroll :)

Actual Results:
The page is rendered twice the width it's supposed to. Frames in the immediate
window, contents you need to scroll for.

Expected Results:
Display contents within the frames you see.
This shows what you can see immediately.
This is what you have to scroll rigth to get.
It appears the problem here is with a spacer gif being used in the left hand
column not rendering with the requested width. After some experimentation, I
determined that that gif does not appear necessary for the page to render
properly on Firefox, and so I used the adblock extension to block the spacer gif
as a workaround.

this is a duplicate of bug 217527, which has already been fixed in the trunk
builds, and so will be fixed in firefox 1.1
