After logging out of my hotmail mailbox and subsequently attempting to login, my email addy is already filled in. My cookie setting are: check box on "allow sites to set cookies" Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to hotmail.com 2.enter email addy and check box, "do not remember address", login 3.logout, rinse, repeat. Actual Results: My email address is already filled in the login box. Expected Results: should not have had email address used from previous login.

I don't think this is a bug. The "don't remember my email address for future logins" checkbox decides whether Hotmail will save a cookie with your email address in it. You have chosen not to do this. But this doesn't prohibit Firefox's autocomplete feature from saving some of the form data. That is set from Options > Privacy.

Same thing happens for me (WinXP SP2; all versions of Firefox since 0.9.2, currently using 1.0). I have also experimented with clearing the Options for saving form info (i.e., clear all saved form info, and clear the "Save information I enter" checkbox). Firefox still retains the hotmail address even after closing and relaunching the program.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7 I can no longer reproduce this bug. Hotmail has changed their log-in screen, and Firefox now responds according to the choice made in the Hotmail log-in screen.
