In: Help->Help Contents->Options (Preferences)->General->Default Browser (Windows or Linux) The default browser instructions still describe the old behaviour before the "Firefox should check..." checkbox and the "Check Now" button were introduced. Reported at: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=164961
I'll address this with my next patch for bug 279506.
