It would be nice to be able to tile tabs so that more than one can be viewed at
the same time. This could be useful for comparing data from different web sites
for example. I imaging this to work in a simiar way to frames in web pages. You
could tile tabs horizontally (one above the other) or vertically (one to the
right of the other).

But it also looks like bug 111891. Reporter, please reopen and dupe this to
111891 if you think it more closely matches what you want.

Bug 111891 is for Seamonkey and is open, bug 231156 is for Firefox but was
WONTFIX'ed. Both are about a splitter in a single document, so that you can view
2 parts at the same time. This one talks about different websites that can be
compared next to eachother. You do the same with different windows.

This bug is in fact a duplicate of bug 70245. It is not the same as bug 111891,
which talks about splitting the same document into two halves. As Jo Hermans
says, I would like to be able to view different websites in different panes. I
can see this as being very usefull if, for example, you have to compare
scientific data from two different websites. Opening another browser window and
then realiging the two windows to be next to each other is clumsy. Also having
to do this goes against the idea of tabs, which are meant to save your desktop
from getting cluttered with mutiple browser windows. Since bug 70245 was
WONTFIX'ed I don't want to re-open this one. But I think this is a great shame.
If anybody thinks this feature should be included in a future version of
Firefox, maybe this bug (or bug 70245) can be re-opened.

Robin, it couldn't hurt to vote for it. I would if my tiny vote quota wasn't
used up on bigger problems.

I've placed my vote. But does voting on WONTFIX bugs have any effect?
