Based on Scott's comment in Bug 269483, we should remove the UI or Hide App
Update for the 1.0 release in order to not confuse end users.
setting TM to 1.0 and severity to major.
Severity: normal → major
OS: MacOS X → All
Target Milestone: --- → Thunderbird1.0
Prefs/Options > Advanced > Software Update > Thunderbird should be removed.

iirc, I think updating for extensions and themes might still work, though.
should the "My Extensions and Themes" checkbox still remain?
Hardware: Macintosh → All

yes, App Update UI is no longer present on Windows builds.
